The New Moon occurs at 7° of Taurus on Sunday, April 27th, at 12:31 pm PT. Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac, calling for us to work with our bodies, value systems, and the abundance of Mother Earth.

To me, it’s no coincidence that we celebrate and honor Earth Day and Mother’s Day during this season.  

This specific New Moon in Taurus emphasizes the power of Black Moon Lilith – the raw, primal, untamed feminine energy. She is currently located in the intuitive energy of Scorpio and directly opposing the Sun & the Moon in Taurus. Black Moon Lilith invites us to connect with our self-worth, body sovereignty, and claim our right to exist in our full power. 

In addition to New Moon opposing Black Moon Lilith, there’s a second very potent opposition in the sky: Mars opposing Pluto. These two planets have been in conversation since November 2024, and this is their final opposition for the year! 

Mars wants to act fast, Pluto wants to go deep — this can trigger power struggles, intense ambition, or a feeling of being forced into transformation, whether you like it or not. The soul expression of this opposition is that we might experience intense pressure that is necessary to break free from old limiting patterns of comfort. 

Taurus is known for loving stable environments, comfort, and steady growth; however, the combination of Mars, Pluto, and Black Moon Lilith (which form a Grand Cross) pushes us into new frontiers and can open us up to the soulful Taurus, which honors our divine will.
